They mean it when they say "shift on the fly".
On the way to work this morning, I reached down to turn the fan on and flipped the truck into four low instead.
At 80 MPH.
Obviously it didn't go into four low, but it did shift into 4WD. I spent the next several seconds wondering what that shudder was and why my fan didn't come on. I didn't realize what I'd done until I saw the four low light blinking on the dash. So apparently Ford really means it when it calls this setup "shift on the fly"... I think if I tried to shift my Toyota into 4WD at 80mph I'd leave little bits of transfer case all over the freeway.

That is why I stopped putting Bailey's in my coffee for the drive to work.

But it tastes so much better that way. And that's definately one way to test the safety features of SOTF. Lol. Glad the safety's worked, otherwise you might of had a headache and some glitter coming out from underneath your truck.

Since I started leaving the coffee at home and switched to straight Bailey's I'm warm enough that I don't even need to touch the fan switch.

It means shift and fly out the windshield...in your case.
Nah , it won't go into low unless your stationary or not moving. I believe 55mph is max for shifting into 4high..so they say. But, I can tell you it works flawlessly at 75 mph.
