Testing an ignition coil

All plugs and coils are less than 10 thou Motorcraft and new Bosch injectors.
I did notice the connector on the coil has lost its clip and now just slides on.
Ill run the motor this weekend and apply a bit of pressure with a wooden dowel to see if that makes a difference.

Right , somethings going on. Should be the coils, that's for sure. How did it react when you first installed the injectors and coils ? Usually when you update both at once, you notice a nice bump in power and acceleration.

Good coils should definitely last.100k+ in well working engine.

But......
A lean cyl or wide plug gap will cause high voltage spike on secondary that might seriously shorten their life.

So could a bad connector...constantly shorting.

Well the plugs and coils were originally installed of the original motor.
When I put the replacement motor in I changed them to the new motor, then installed rebuilt Bosch injectors.

Twaz either the loose connector or the spark plug.
