Default Swapping Stereos

Hi guys. My 2003 has the cassette deck now but my kids want me to upgrade to a cd player. Apparently they don't like my singing! Does anyone know if it's an easy swap out and what the ballpark cost might be.

Thanks

You could most likely get a factory cd player from a salvage yard for around $50 that will just plug right in with no modifications.

Its a super easy swap if you go to a factory radio. Is that what your planning to do? Or are you going aftermarket? All you need is the little u-shaped tools from a parts place, they're like 6 or 7 dollars, maybe less, I don't really remember.

Push that tool in pry outwards and pull the radio out, if it catches on the trim piece that surrounds it, just pull that off carefully, it just has some tabs. The radio will slide out and then just unclip the plugs at the back, and its out!

If your looking to get a factory CD you can probably get one from the local junkyard for around $20.

Thanks. Yeah I'm definitely going factory to keep it as simple as possible. I'll have my kids scour the local junk yard this weekend. By the way, this is the most helpful forum I've been on for any reason so I appreciate the help.
