Default Superchip 1715 Help?

Hey everyone, I have a superchip 1715 for my 97 F150 5.4. Everywhere I read that it is possible to choose between a 87 octane and 91 octane performance for the truck. I can't seem to find it. The only thing that my SUPERCHIP is asking me is if I want to " Use Superchips Tuning? YES/NO " If I say yes, then it goes right into installing the tuning, no questions asked. If I say no, then it asks me "Edit Custom Opts? YES or NO" If I say no, then I go back to Main Menu. If I say yes, then it asks me if my transmission is Manual or Automatic, and then goes straight into adjusting shift timing and pressure. No where does it ask me if I want to change octane level performances. This bothers me a lot because not only do I want to have a 91 octane performance, I also do not know if "Superchips Tuning" is 87, or 91 octane. If anyone here is able to help me please do. Thanks guys.

it depends on the tune for performance and towing it will tell you to run 91 but for eco mode or stock with options you can run 87

I have a superchips also for 02-04 and mine does the same thing also. I just plan on getting rid of it and getting and SCT sometime.

Aw man. I hope there is a fix to it. Like this superchip is amazing imho. But I want to be able to choose. For you it's easier because you have a newer truck. Mine is a 1997 ...

About the only thing i use it for is to change tire size, all the trans settings are worthless since my trans is done up.

Well see for me the transmission settings are sweet. I just want a simple 91 octane performance mod.

Superchip is for octane, put 91+ into it and tune it. Just run 91+, else go back to factory tune.

I had the same one, its the older unit and not selectable. When you run the superchips tuning it assumes you are using 91 octane. I called superchips tech line and spoke with them about this, they informed me it wasn't able to be updated and I was stuck with it, good thing I only paid $100 for it... sold it and bought a SCT x3 with custom tunes, much much better!
