Default "Super Cooling" / HD cooling pkg.

How can I tell I have it?
In front of the radiator there are two "auxillary" coolers. Should I replace these?

I believe so sir! 1 cooler should be the steer fluid cooler and the other is a 12k lb GCVW Transmission cooler.

Doubt my 01 has a super tow pkg, but I will say that I HAD to change my trans cooler after it showed metal particulate in the fluid. I mention it only because I noticed upon removal, that it had become weak in attachment to its mounts. You might gently check yours for dilapidation due to simple age/exposure. No salt is used in my area.

Yes, and function may be ok. But you don't want the lines to be the support for a 10 lb item. The sheetmetal surround on mine was almost to failure point. It came apart when I removed my unit. I would have otherwise never noticed.

How does it look? Guy I got truck from said it was replaced 50k miles ago. While I have the shroud and fan off figured I’d replace it.

The passenger-side cooler is, indeed, a trans cooler. It's not a "Super Duty" or "HD" cooler, though. It's the standard one that came with the tow package. That said, if you will be towing a fair amount (frequency and/or weight), later-model SD coolers can be retrofit to replace that stock cooler for better cooling.

I’m intrigued. All original equipment on my truck so I’m ready to replace whatever needs it. What year SD has the correct coolller?
