does a superchip really add anything?? a friend has one in the box he said i could have for 75. is it worth it or is it a waste of money?

 

Make sure it's compatable with your truck and that it's unlocked first.

 

it says it will work. how do i tell if its locked?? how much of a gain will i get?

 

Depending on the model Superchip it is, it could do a variety of things. Generally though, the superchip will change specs such as fuel and air ratios, timing, and shift points so the truck runs more efficiently. There is not a big difference in power, somewhere in the ballpark of 3-10HP gain, maybe a little more MPG, but nothing to write home about overall. I guess if I knew what model it was I could tell you more.
