Default Stumped and overheating

Far from home, the shifter rod broke and I couldn't get it in gear. In an attempt to make it home, I manually put it in gear from underneath and made it the 100 miles back from where i came. However, I could not take it out of gear and after idling for a short while, I smelled and saw
steam from the right side or passenger side. It was leaking coolant from the back passenger side but I could not see from where. After I got it towed, I started it back up and the same overheating began again. The reservoir is full, however, and it looks like a small amount of milkyness on top of reservoir coolant. Not a lot. I am stumped but should note the intake was recently replaced and was running fine until this.....Help

To find the leak try using a leak detector dye.

The source of the problem could be as simple as a faulty thermostat.
