But they also have the superstat, an upgraded model thats a few more $. Shouldnt be necessary, but has larger flow and better control improvements lsupposedly. Napa sells it as their tstat also

Come to think, my first replace of bad one, worked at first great. was another motorcraft....16 mo later it wouldnt get over 185f. It wasnt work right either. Then i went to the superstat.

I should probably check ect again.

Thanks mbb. I discarded my new tstat box after I installed it, but fortunately Advance Auto Parts had my purchase in their system. Looks like I bought the superstat model after all:

Stant Superstat Premium Thermostat, 195 Degrees Fahrenheit

I'm too busy to refill the system through the tstat housing today, so that will have to wait until I install the new pump when it gets here next week.
