Default Strange Clunk

Hey guys, new to the forum's. Anywho my 97 f150 4x4 5 speed has an unusual clunk from random takeoffs. I recently put a new t case in but it did it with the old one too. I know I need new ball joints, could be that? Another thing is, I had to put new spider gears in the rear end, no idea if those just need to be adjusted?

Clunky can come from anywhere. Try to narrow down where the sound originates. In the front end it could be ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar links, idler or pitman arm, etc. If you put the correct shims back in your rear end(as they came out) when you changed the spiders it should be ok. Another common issue on these trucks is a broken transmission mount. Crawl under there and inspect it for cracks or separated rubber.
