my 2003 f150 lariat 4x4 is still having 4wd issues. it will engage while in a parking lot and i can feel it while turning, but as soon as i get off road it wont engage. the truck will still have 4x4 light on the dash but online my rear tire will be spinning. nothing from the front end. already has new transfer case and actuator. any ideas?

 

Do you have a 4x4 switch or manual? Sounds like an electrical problem if you have the switch.

 

yeah its the switch. but why would it engage on road and as soon as i hit mud or sand kick out of 4wd?

 

Your posts aren't clear.

First you say it won't engage when you are not in the parking lot.

Then you are saying it "kicks out" which I assume you mean it switches back to 2wd automatically somehow? I don't understand.

You've failed to mention if this occurs with High, low, or both.
