Default Steering wheel.

Hi Guys and girls. Ok so I got a 1998 truck not sure which model it is yet but it definitely has the wrong steering wheel. I know for definite it should have a air bag and I suspect cruise as well. Now my problem is finding a wheel, I have looked on ebay and its a struggle to find one. In the UK we have ford explorer's are they the same boss? or column. On the other hand if anyone has one for sale including the bag please let me know. Cheers Chris

You'll have better luck if you look for a like-year Expedition one. Same cruise control buttons. I believe all of the "Gen 10" model F-150s can serve as donors (1997-2003) as well as Expeditions. They made changes to the interior and exterior in 2004, so those (and later) may not mate up. I think Lincoln Navigator ones (1997-2003) world work, but some of them have the radio controls in the wheel, so the wiring may be different.

There was a thread awhile back about a guy putting a Navigator wheel in his F150 for the audio controls. He spent several hours and it looked to be a huge PITA project, but it looked pretty sweet when done. So it IS possible, just a lot of work.
