Shamu has failed her MOT.
Needs some steering bits replacing so going to do the lot..saves stripping all the rusty bits apart
When done I need to have the toe set.

the lightnings use these specs

Factory Specs: Ford Lightning 2000-04 Models
L Caster: 6.9 +/- 1 deg
L Camber: -.5 +/- .7 deg
L Toe: -.05 +/- .15 deg
R Caster: 7.4 +/- 1 deg
R Camber: -.5 +/- .7 deg
R Toe: -.05 +/- .15

I'm trying to remember your truck. You had 2 right? One early while and now the HD? What was the info on the HD? These above are the 2wd readings specific to the Lightnings (lower). Now I'm wondering about the first ones I posted.

Things must have changed. When I was there you couldn't test for an MOT if they didn't have the specs for the vehicle they were testing. It was a PITA to get the specs in to the system too. They weren't something the local tester could accept from an applicant. An MOT failure sheet would also list what was out--why and by how much.

Understandable considering the age of our trucks. You had said your toe adjustment was out without knowing the specs for toe alignment. Use to be on your MOT failure printout it would say what the toe measured at and what the manufacturer specs are. At the time you could fail your MOT for the headlights being out of alignment to specs. If specs weren't involved and the failure was about a failing part, the printout would tell you what part(s) were disqualified. For something universal like emission failures where a specific problem couldn't be identified you always at least knew exactly why the vehicle failed the MOT. Like I said, things must have changed when it comes to what you know when leaving an MOT station. Then again the Ministry of Transport doesn't even exist anymore but MOT has stuck for testing.

Alignment isn't checked on MOT.
I posted it failed on steering parts.,but when they get changed it will need alignment. They won't have the specs for this as it's not a UK car so won't be on the database ..
I know what parts have failed due to excessive movement ,but rather than dealing with seperating rusty parts I've elected to replace it all.
