Default Starting it up after extended down time

I have a 1999 F150 and about 8 months ago my Grandmother gave me her 92 Crown Victoria and asked me to drive it because she couldn't any more. I have driven that car ever since and have completely forgot about my poor old F150 sitting there. I went out to try and start it up and of course it doesn't. I know it needs a battery, which I am getting this weekend..

Any other advice on how to get it to start up after being idle for 8-9 months or so?

Next time when you park the truck for a extended period pull your battery, clean the terminal and purchase a schuemarker charger with the maintenance mode available on it. All you do is place the battery on a wooden surface , not cement because it will mess up the battery, and also make sure it is in a well ventilated area where it will be suitable and safe to sit for the extended period , hook up the charger ,put it in maintenance mode and that will keep the battery perfect automatically while it sit dormant.

Wouldn't hurt to change the oil before cranking. Condensation can build up from sitting a long time. And check the air pressure in the tires. Most likely will have to add air.
