Default Starting issues

I have a 2002 4.2 liter. I can start my truck for just a second but it won't hold idle at all. I hit the fuel reset button once and it started after doing that but now it won't at all. Also it smells like its flooded after trying to start it. Any idea what it could be?

Was the check engine light on? Have you checked all fuses?

Check engine light wasn't on when I drove it this morning and when I start it for that second it the light isn't on. I looked at my fuses under the hood but will check the underdash box. It did this a few times last night but ran like a champ this morning to work. So I don't think it's a fuse
