i fired up my 2000 5.4 f150 yesterday and the solenoid fryed along with rest of starter.only thing i could find was the wire on the alternator was loose and the wire from battery to firewall was loose.Could that have caused the starter to burn up? or does this just happen at random,it is the OE starter from mfr. i can do a continuity test from battery to a ground to check for a short or pinched wire right?
