Talking Starte Bolts

Hope I can get help with this. Picked up a 2003 F150XL with a 4.2l at auction. It was a sheriff seizure and they pulled the starter along with the transmission pan looking for drugs. Found them in the transmission but in the process lost the bolts to the starter since they are not concerned about putting things back together. I have checked with a few dealers and they all tell me they can't give me the size of the bolts mounting the starter or the nuts for the wires. Is there anyone out there that can give me the correct size and length of the bolts and nuts for this starter? This is the only thing I need to get this truck back on the road. Low mileage and a good body make this a prime candidate to resell if I can get it going again. I am a retired disabled vet and can use the money.

Well, if you can't purchase new, I would call a scrap yard an have them send you a set. They sell anything. I just did that for a part that's been discontinued for these trucks and it worked out well.

Since it is a cousin to the 3.8, I would guess they are 3/8-16 thread. Something like this kit might be what you need....

Don't know the size or length off hand but on my 99 4.2 they are metric.
