so i just picked this truck up, its a 2000 with a V6. it runs at idle but will stall if i give any throttle. it has new plugs and wires from the previous owner, no idea if they are installed properly. i also havent had any codes checked cuz i dont have a scanner or know much about this truck in general.

just looking to be pointed in the right direction so i know where to start looking, tried searching but didnt find anything relating to stalling with throttle.

 

If you don't have a CEL (check engine light) I would say its possibly a fuel filter. If you do have a CEL, go to AutoZone for a free read and post the number or numbers of the code before buying anything.

 

cool thanks. there is no CEL, just says engine needs service. its very possible the filter is clogged, who knows the last time it was changed. i will source out a haynes and have a go at this beast, good thing i got it for a rediculous price
