Stalling Issue After IAC Replacement
Yea, that's a problem, usually a high idle problem vs stalling. Well, you'll see I guess...maybe lol. Since you in there, lub up the IAC and work the plunger. You won't be able to tell what exactly was the problem between the two, if it's fixed....well, unless you hold off on the IAC lube this time around.
Yes I just did that! Just to make sure! What makes me believe the hole in the PCV tube is the culprit is that the stalling only happened when I would get on the throttle with the engine warm. I am thinking it was inhaling a ton of air very rapidly, similar to what happens when you disconnect the large vacuum line with the engine running.

Ok, so the issue did not go away with the PCV tube fix. I did notice my air intake tube was not seated properly, so I fixed that and everything seemed to be fine....until this morning. This morning the truck is misfiring like crazy. According to the $06 test with Forscan, it is multiple misfires that usually set a P0300 code. I am thinking this is all related to air flow into the motor since I can hear air hissing. This evening I plan on checking the gasket between the spacer and intake manifold. If that does not work, it looks as though I will be removing the intake manifold this weekend to see if it is cracked or leaking at the mating surface.
Did you do a hard disconnect? Anytime you work on the engine that may change up air metering, you do a disconnect...so it defaults to re learning strategies, ground 0. A hole fix in the PCV assembly is a big change in timing. Anyway, I would start there. But write the DTC's down if you got more than just the 300.
Did you by chance mess with any coils ? That and the EGR may cause misfires, fixing that hole will lower idle drastically. Also, when you suck tested the EGR, that too could be reason for the 300. Suck testing will make them miss before stall. A reset or disconnect will straighten that up.
I did not touch any of the coils, but when I reattached the intake tube I do remember replacing a line running to the EGR switch. Since that was the last thing I worked on before the misfiring happened, I am thinking that is where I will start. As soon as I get out of this donor recruitment event I am going to check it out.
