Question Stalled when driving, Crank no start

02 4x4 4.6L Manual 103k miles - Few months ago, was driving, lost all power for a split second after going into 3rd, then kicked back in. Maybe for like .25 seconds, felt like maybe the fuel pump went out momentarily but it was decently cold, so thought nothing of it. Couple days ago was driving at about 30mph, went into 3rd and full stall, was barely able to pull it into a parking lot (no power steering). Car cranks but won't start. I have an OBD2 bluetooth thing coming in from AMZN, should I just pick up a fuel pump/filter pre-emptively? I feel decently certain its the FP but was going to wait and see if a code was thrown/read pressure when key on eng off. Also, I searched the forums for info, figured I'd get a more "tailored" response. Thanks a lot for the help!

Just wanted to BUMP this post and say thanks a lot for all the replies! After replacing the fuel pump/filter, I still got crank no start. Decided to replace both the Fuel Pump relay, still no start, then replaced the PCM and it fired right up! Thanks again every one for your help. Y'all are the best!

I had a similar problem on my 1998. It turned out to be my computer. The connection was dirty. I got a small nail file and filed down the corrosion then used air out of a can to clean it up. I was baffled at first. I changed out many parts including fuel pump. A local mechanic told me to check the connection at the harness and computer. Its a long shot but worth a try. Remove the battery and cover. My truck has a 10mm bolt holding harness onto computer ecm. Good luck.
