Anyone know where I can order a spring clip replacement for the quick disconnect on my fuel lines? I don't want to have to rig my line unless I have to and if you read below there is no way for me to get one where I live.



My 97 4.6l started to show some idle problems that made me think I might need to change my fuel filter so yesterday I removed the old fuel filter and found that the quick disconnect on the outlet flex hose is missing the spring clip inside it. Kinda baffled me how the guy that owned it before me got the hose to stay on the filter. So I ran down to the local parts store and found no one carries these things. I went to the parts shop at the local ford dealership and the parts guy told me you couldn't buy these things separately you had to buy the whole fuel line when they did carry them, which they don't now. He said my best bet was a junk yard. Junk yards in the area that let you pull your own parts don't have any matching modals and the junk yards that pull the parts for you won't pull these because of some law that says they can't sell the fuel line component.
