Yes... Easily possible. Think about it logically, the reverse lights only get power when in reverse. If you tap into that power wire, anything off that will get power too. The only issue you could run into would be overloading that circuit. See what fuse the reverse is running on and just add an inline of a little less.

I did it back when I made the thread, I didn't have any testers to see what wire got power when I put it in reverse, but the first wire I tapped in to was the right one lol.

I want to put some led pods flush mounted into my bumper, can I just splice those into the reverse lights? I saw people said a led tailgate light bar would be okay but not off-road lights. But if they're just the led pods with 4 lights in them will that be okay?

Depends on the wattage of the led pods. wattage divided by volts give you the amperage draw. I would so no. Even if one pod only used 5 amps, multiplying it can over load the circuit.

The 4 light ones are probably listed as 18w, so with 2 your pulling 36w with the LED, then the OEM lights (4.5 amps for a regular 3156). Your looking at ~ 8 amps of the stock wiring. Could you, yes, since reverse lights are only on for 20-30 seconds at the longest you should be fine, but it would be best to run a relay.

I have 2 10 w cubes and some Cree LED reverse lights (7w each) on mine.
So that 24w is pulling 2 amps.

So if you change the reverse lights to LED (These are the ones I got) as well as the pods, you should be fine without a relay.

Heres what I did for additional reverse lights. 6 eagle eye LED's spliced right into the reverse light wires drilled into the bumper. Swapped factory bulbs with LED's in the reverse lights too. Not sure why the LEDs in the bumper look yellow but they are actually really bright white light.

Check if that's the correct wire in YOUR truck, that's what I used to trigger the relay for my aux reverse lights... comes on when in reverse
Same here, triggers my reverse camera. Its right there looking at you in the bundle of wires.
