Default Speedometer reading EXTREMELY fast

Just picked my truck up from the Ford place. Had them diagnosing a 4x4 problem for me. When I pulled out of the parking lot I noticed that my speedometer was reading about 40 mph fast.... I called the Ford place and asked them if it had done this while the truck was with them. It was not doing it when I dropped it off. Anyone ever seen this before?

They didn't replace anything. Just hooked it up to their computer to diagnose my 4x4 issue. Told me I had a bad GEM and fuse box. I do have an edge programmer which I'm assuming they disconnected to hook up their computer. Could that cause a problem? They told me that it could in no way be there fault bc they did work on the truck.

The edge wouldn't mess it up. The only way the could of messed it up was by trying to reflash it with the edge program in it still. When you reflash it you actually remove the entire program, and ford uploads the new programming for it. So unless the edge programming messed something up there is no way your GEM would cause the speedo to do that
