Default Which speakers?

I think i have narrowed down my hunt for 6x8 speakers to two... The Alpine Type-R and the Infinity Kappas. Whichever brand I decide to go for I will probably stick to for sub and amp at a later date.
Is either better than the other? Or are there any superior alternatives?
I will be mating them to an aftermarket Sony head unit which i already have if that makes any difference.
Cheers.

I replaced blown stock unit with Sony XPlodes. Don't go there. Highs were better, but not much better bass. However, if you're going for a subwoofer setup, then you can live with what in effect are midranges and tweeters in the door panels, and fill the cabin with the sub. You therefore can save money by buying the less expensive 6x8s, while you're preparing for the subwoofer setup. Mounting depth limits what you can put in the doors.

I'd go with kappa, personal preference. Look around on amazon might be able to find some better speakers for decent deal and ebay. In my extended cab i had infinity references in all for corners then 2x10" reference subs with a 400 watt amp... had an oversized box as well which took up the backseat entirely and it also droned out the 2 speakers in the extended cab area. Which the two in the doors had great highs and semi ok mids... Listened to mainly new rock then and i cranked it up a bit loud. I havent had a chance to hear them yet but kenwood has a 2 way speaker i think its 5x7 or 6x8(not 100% sure of that even) that has the woofer and the tweeter separate. To me that seems like it would be a better build than have the tweeter come up inside the middle of the cone on the woofer? I have not quite got that far on my mod list yet to worry about it. So I may be of no help. Will definitely look around tomorrow on the net maybe come up with some better options for myself and maybe for you.

Since this is a complete upgrade, it might be time to consider a crossover arrangement, where highs and mids can use the door speakers, regardless of brand, since the 5x7 /6x8 speakers will never give you the bass needed ( magnet size and mounting depth being a limiting factor. Again, reserve the bass for the new amp, which does not have to be a Class D amp (subwoofer only) - it could be a standard amplifier (Rockford Fosgate Punch, etc), which would reproduce the 20 Hz to 400 Hz range (or higher, since you could use standard woofers, 10" or so). Doing this, in effect, mirrors what is in your home speakers, with the difference is that the speakers are not in a single enclosure. You have many cost-effective options here.

for my audio upgrade i went with a 200 dollar alpine head unit, blue tooth with all the goodies. went to the junkyard and pulled out 4 door speakers from a 2008 expedition with the premium sound system from ford and put a 12 inch mtx subwoofer in the rear.

ive had all brands of audio, but nothing beats alpine in my opinion. (even though i did my audio on a budget, the ford speakers sound absolutely amazing).

You need to get Pioneer 6x8 4-way speakers(meaning 4 individual speakers in each 6x8 speaker, theres a dome or cone for the bass, a mid speaker for the mids, a tweeter and a super tweeter for all the highs you can possibly hear) i got mine on a website called sonicelectronix.com they were $70 a pair
