I pulled all the coils and miscellaneous wiring and brackets out of the way. Soaked the plugs down with PB overnight then finished the job the next day. No problems, went smooth. Just take your time and slowly work the plugs out.

i heard that the trucks with the 5.4L 3V engines have a two piece plug and are harder to do...i think i saw the years were 2004+ if im correct...i could be wrong, the 5.4L 2V is a one piece plug..i tihnk you just have to be careful you dont break the ****ers off inside..then youve really got a job ahead of you lol

Its not that bad, you just gotta have some patience. Took me about 1.5 hours total. Make sure you have a good selection on extensions (preferably wobbly) a stubby 3/8 ratchet and flex head 3/8 ratchet. Spark plug sockets will also save a lot of headache. The hardest one is the rear pass. side.

yea i know mine is a one piece plug. and it seems like it will be pretty easy to reach my plugs since i put a body lift on, ive got alot more room to work twords the back. ill have to make sure ive got all the right sockets though.

Another recommendation is when you un-thread the old plugs break them loose, then work the thread's back and forth about 1/4 turn at a time until they come out. The last thing you want to do is pull threads and end up having to helicoil the head or bust a plug.
