Default some people........

some people do not know how to maintain a vehicle. as some of you know i puchased a 1997 f150 and have been repairing it daily. well today it over heated because the water in the radiator was frozen. when i bought the truck i knew it needed a radiator flush. been trying to find the time to do it this week. well when i was forced to do it today i found some grossness in the radiator. below are some pics. keep in mind that is all from the radiator. the concrete was spotless before i started draining the radiator. enjoy the pics

If it was frozen, that means fluid would have expanded in your block. I would do a pressure test just to make sure everything is ok.

At least I'm not alone in buying a horribly unmaintained truck.. My97 5.4 has had so many problems I couldn't even tell you ll of them.. Just some of the important ones ENGINE TRANNY TRANSCASE all before 150,000 good thing I did the work my self it'd be a $20,000 if I had to bring it to a shop seriously I've grown to hate it now that everythings fixed I just want to sell it.. just in case something else goes wrong.. Anyways Now that that's off my chest....

I guess I was lucky, the guy I bought my 97 from had about 100 receipts for shop work. He took it to the shop for EVERYTHING he heard a noise, it went to the shop. Air filter changed went to the shop, trans oil changed shop. I swear I have never met anyone so neurotic about maintaining a vehicle. 150k and not a problem.

yes sand and rust flakes. i ran water threw it for 3 hrs before brown water stopped flowing. when i first opened the drain valve it was just wet sand that came out. like chocolate pudding.
