Default some engine help and advice

ok i got a 97 f-150 with a 4.2 i just bought a engine for it but its out of a 99 will this engine go right in or what do i have to change out to get it to fit in my truck

that engine will go right in. the only issue I had when I did mine recently was that the injector harness connector was a different shape than the one that came on the truck initially. I wound up swapping out the injectors and harness to make it work. The only other issue I had was removing the motor and tranny together...there's not enough room. You may be able to get them out together, but they won't go back in together. I took a sawsall and cut the upper radiator support on both sides of the hood latch to make room. the motor and trans. slipped right in after that little adjustment. then all I had to do was reweld the radiator support back in place, and add a little paint...hope this helps.

thank you i figured on the injectors as they are a different style of injector.. im just taking the engine out not the tranny so i wont have to cut just pull and put in and the good thing is i only payed 250 for a 115k 4.2 and it runs sweet heard it run before they pulled it
