Default Smoked tail lights. Anybody had cop trouble?

It's probably a weird question, but I was wondering if any body has had any problems from the cops with there tinted tails? Mainly in the state of GA, SC, AL, FL.

I was looking at tinting mine with this, but have heard people talking about getting pulled for tinted tails?

Just curious, thanks for any help.

I'm from SC and my dad has the smoked tail covers on his Yvette and no cop troubles. I see plenty of people around here with them also, so you should be fine here.

I'm not knowledgeable about other state's laws, but I do know that in NJ it is legal as long as the light can be seen from a certain distance away... something like 500 feet. Not entirely sure what specific distance.

I think as long as you dont smoke/tint the reverse lamps, you don't attract much cop attention.

However, I have had 4 exhaust tickets.

Your best bet is to ask your friendly neighborhood cop about the law before you go doing anything. Be sure to note what the law ACTUALLY is AND what they'll bust your ***** for.

True. HIDs in non HID housings are illegal, but I've never been pulled over for it.

I'm in SC and I haven't had any problems. I've had multiple cops behind me,and I've been pulled over once and the cop didn't mention them. Mine are pretty dark too.

Where in SC are you? I'm towards the low country along the coast.

Ditto. Like I said, there's a difference between what the law is and what they'll actually care enough to pull you over for.

I'm in Aiken. I read some where that you have to be able to see the brake lights light up red from 1,000 feet to be legal.
