Default slight vibration

I hope someone can help me out. I have an 01 4wd screwcab with about 160k on the odometer. it recently started having a slight vibration form a dead stop, mostly on right or left turns. it only happens when i first hit the gas pedal, as soon as i get any kinda forward momentum, it goes away. I just had the rear diff. rebuit about a year ago. i don't know if it could be the u-joints, or maybe the tranny? any and all insight would be greatly appreciated.

Are you feeling it in the steering wheel? I would recommend jacking up the front end and shaking each wheel to check for excessive play. Hub bearing or ball joint could be the problem.

Another issue you might check is the wheel bearing. My 03 has the same problem and it is the left front wheel bearing. It only happens once in a while so I'm in no hurry to change it. I saw on EBAY someone selling two for 181/pair. Great deal. I bought a radiator for $93 and it fit great. Just an idea.

Good day,

It could possibly be the front diff not disengaging even if the transfer case is in 2wd... I would go with what Torkum suggested if you know the diff is not engaged...

Good luck!!

Cheers!!

Im having the same problem with mine right now. It only does it once in a while but knowing something is wrong is driving me crazy. I think mine is in the rear end though. If you get any answers let me know.

Have you checked the front CV joints? Even though you aren't in 4WD, the front axles are still rotating freely whenever the wheels are. Could be the CV boot has a small puncture or something and the joint isn't lubricated anymore causing you to feel a vibration in the steering wheel, especially when turning. If your truck is leveled off by way of the stock torsion bars keys, that will create a steeper angle on the A-arms which would make the CV joints a little bit more angled where you would feel it in the steering wheel on turns. Just a thought. I had this happen to me before.
