Default Side steps/ nerf bars

Hello all, I'm thinking of ditching the small side steps I have now and going for some nerf bars. I was looking through ebay and found a few that I like, but I was wondering what experiences, if any, you may have had with them. I've seen plenty around town all rusted up to crap, are there any ones you recommend that are inexpensive? Also, I'm thinking of going with a 3", since that seems to be the norm, but a 4" step sounds nice. Does anyone have a picture of a 4" nerf bar? I'm curious to see how big it looks in comparison to the rest of the truck. Here are a couple I'm looking at.

3" step

4" step

Although, I think I like the straight style over the rounded ends that go back underneath the truck. Let me know what you've got/think!

Thanks,
James

Personally I like the look of 3" and I've heard good things about westen Nerf bars. If you look around at like swap meets then you should be able to find a new set for about 140

Well I found a good deal on craigslist last night and picked up these nerf bars. They don't have a brand on them, so I'm not sure what they are. When I picked them up, it was dark out, so I thought they were factory black. However, this morning, I found that they are stainless steel painted black with automotive paint (the back has runs and is thin in someparts). But I figure I'll just spray them down with bed liner later and not worry about them rusting. The other thing is the brackets have them close to the truck, so they're almost useless. I'm thinking I'll cut the bracket where it goes down and weld in a 1 (maaayybe 2) inch extension plate.

Could probably pick up the correct brackets from your local 4x4 shop. I've never understood using those short ones, makes the bars pretty useless.
