side mirror oxidation
Seems like no matter how many times I wash my truck there are whitish streaks below the mirror. Right after washing the streaks are faded but within hours they are back. After wax they again fade temporarily. but always return. I have seen them on the sides of other F150s.. how do I get rid of them?
Odd... no one smokes in my truck. If its like my Mercury outboard vinegar may do the truck to remove it if it is indeed oxidation but I don't know if vinegar will effect the paint.
OP, aren't you talking about streaks on the paint UNDER the mirrors like where the water drips down after you wash it?
Not the mirror glass itself?
It's usually just a film that water leaves behind... Clean water runs under the mirror trim and turns to dirty water back there (not very clean back there)... Then dribbles down and leaves deposits of the dirt and whatnot behind... Wax will help deter this because it will make the surface smooth and the crap is less likely to stick...
Just wash, then dry... I usually continue to dry until all the water is done dripping from the trim... Then every time it rains or water drips from there it will come back haha
