Default Shudder when shifting

Over the last few weeks, I have noticed that when the tranny shifts, the whole truck shudders. Doesn't happen all the time, but its getting to the point now where it happens often enough that it concerns me. Is there something I can do to save it? or is there something huge happening with my transmissions?

Thanks folks!

Sounds like convertor shutter. That requires replacement of the convertor. Let's hope it isn't that.

Is your truck throwing any codes? Any CEL's we should know about? Those, if there are any, will help to figure what is the cause. You should be showing tranny codes if it is the convertor. Let us know what you find.

Have a fluid exchange done, Mercon V, this fixed my torque shudder. This is not a flush, just an exchange.

Ford makes a Friction Modifier additive for this problem. Used it in my dads 2000 with 200,000 miles on it and it took the shudder away and works great.

The only code I am currently getting is the O2 sensor. Am planning on doing a filter and pan gasket probably next weekend, and swap out that O2. Lots of miles on this baby. other than that, it seems to run well. Then I am going to have to find someone to weld in a set of cab corners and rocker panels. Its slow going, but I am gonna make this thing perfect again.

Thanks for your help guys.

Either a torque converter shuddering which needs replacement or its a bad 02 sensor. Check engine light on?
