Yea my truck blue books at 2000 more than that one and that's about what I owe on it so unless he can cough up some cash deals a no go

Have you test driven this truck? 5.4 with pi heads to a 4.6 without pi heads is a huge difference in power. Plus it's a 5 speed so towing capacity is lower than an automatic would be.
Don't get me wrong. The 4.6 is a great engine, my 2000 supercab has that engine, but I've driven an 01 5.4 supercrew and the 5.4's are much more powerful. It's gonna feel weird switching from the 5.4 to 4.6. Just expect it.

Sounds fair. Realize the dealer is going to make money on the deal as their business depends on it and I assume he is not a retard. Don't be surprised if he lists it for 2-5k more than the 97 is.
If the pros for you are worth more than a couple grand, do the trade.
