I think I will paint it black. Can you remove the Grill or do you have to paint it on the truck?

Make sure you clean it really well. I sprayed my honeycomb and apparently didn't clean it well enough before and it is beginning to chip in places, even after 3 coats of black and 2 clear.

Pull the grille out to avoid overspray and all that tape work. For the time spent taping you can pull the other 8 screws and 2 t-20 torx bolts out and have the grille on the ground, that's just me.

Ha, that's funny. Took me maybe ten minutes to tape It off and a few seconds to take the tape off. A lot easier and less time consuming than taking the entire grille off, taking the insert out, painting it, putting the insert back in, and putting the grille assembly back on.

To each his own... Some like a better quality, less chance of a overspray on the rest of the truck and it is easier to get a better coverage.

I had the whole front apart too, I was installing my 6" lights. Thus making it easier to pull the emblem and insert out.

Mine looks pretty good to have been done the "less quality" way. Got full coverage and no over spray, I actually covered what I wasn't painting. I get complements regularly.

Good for you! Glad you found something that you were able to complete in a decent amount of time. I, on the other hand will like a better quality job. I have the personal satisfaction of knowing I have a 100% full coverage of my grille. And since my front end was taken apart anyway, it literally took me 2 mins to remove the insert and emblem.

Again I say, to each his own. I don't like to be a defensive person, but you sir deserve a little talking back to just for the mere fact that you had a little discrepancy/disagreement in what I had mentioned for our compadre to do to his truck. He was simply asking for advice which I gave.

Sorry you disagreed.

To each his own.
