SHOCKS I'm confused
So I have a 2003 F150 4.6 V8 2wd ext cab and it has a rough country 3'' suspension lift and a 3'' body lift. The shocks I got with the suspension kit sucked!!! I need new ones but cant figure out what to get, so I have a couple questions. First when choosing size is there really a difference between getting ones for 4wd or 2wd. Second when I choose 2wd on a shock like off of auto anything there is a 3'' lift option. Finally does anyone know if the rough country lift is actually 3'' because it was just lift spindles on the front and I know the rear blocks are really only 2''. Please someone help me find shocks this is driving me crazy.
Main thing here is do I need bigger shocks for the front with just a spindle lift, and the back has around a 2.5 block do I need bigger shocks there or just get stock ones. I was looking at bilsteins
the spindles relocate where the wheel mounts to the spindle -- do not need longer shocks
lift springs (which you do not have) do not lift it enough to require longer shocks
body lift lifts the body only up a couple inches has nothing to do with suspension
so... you can get stock length shocks, I recomend KYB, or bilsteins, they will cost a little bit more but are well worth it.
