Default shock mount relocation

Anyone on here tried to relocate their rear shock mounts on top of the axle??

I've searched a little bit, but found nothing. I'm afraid of them getting hung up on rocky trails and would like them not to be the lowest point on the axle, seems like trouble waiting to happen.

Also anyone tried the BW cutout flares on a screw? Their website says in won't work on a screw, but when I compare my fenders to my neighbors ext. cab they look the same to me (at least where the flare would be anyways).

It would'nt be a big deal to relocate the shock mounts, just make sure you end up with enough travel or get shorter shocks... if you do this it seems you'd hit rock bottom on the shock before you hit the bump stop...

No idea about the BW flares for the screw... Screws run the wraparound tail lights, are the body lines the same on the box?? I assume the front fenders are the same... Well just as an example Rough country says you can't run stock wheels on thier lift and you definitely can... maybe not on some stock wheels but mine were 4.5" BS and worked without spacers... maybe call Buchwacker and ask why?

yeah didn't think the shock would be a big deal, just wondering if anyone had done it, and if there are any rules to follow. I assume I would try to keep the angle of the shock the same, and yeah I know they'd have to be shorter.

Yeah, I guess I'm gonna have to contact BW. I really think its just an issue of them not taking the time to verify fitment yet or something. Front fenders are identical its the bed that they are saying is different. I don't see it though (at least not in the wheel well area). The tailights are far enough back they won't interfere. If i can find a place with a good return policy, I might just order some and check it out for myself.

Yeah shocks are angled for a reason... when straight up and down with the movement of the body to the axle they're dampening at 100% of thier potential and as you angle they "soften" and don't dampen to thier full potential... so change the angle change your ride... prolly not by much though
