Default shifter indicator

Hi i have an 02 5.4l lariat f150 and the little red pin that shows you what gear you are in has moved along. so that when you select reverse it looks like your in drive. this was fine for me until i was getting an oil change... turns out that the mechanic was finishing up as i was watching him, he got in my truck to pull it out and reversed it onto a 5ft full car ramp! causing a lot of damage. luckily its all sorted by them and i have a shiny new tailgate! so to avoid this happening again how do you make the indicator move back to the right place??

Many thanks Ali

Have you had any tranny work done that would have screwed with the selector?

First of all the shop didnt fix that so they wouldnt have that problem. But if its like mine you can look under the dash and find the shift cable and somewhere up near the cluster there should be a little thing with a wheel on it turn that one way or the other and it will adjust.
