Default Shifter

My 1997 F-150 (newer model) shifter is rough to get out and in to Park, but when I'm out of park its loose to shift from reverse to drive etc. To get in and out of park you got to push the shift lever in hard and pull towards you. Anyone know any fix's or do I have to pretty much get a whole new column?

It could be 2 bolts under your steering column lay in you driverside floorboard and look for 2 Torx bit bolts. They come loose sometimes and cause the gear shift to feel broke

Check the Torx bolts under the dash. 90 percent of the time they come loose and the shifter is floppy I will take pics tomorrow if I get time
