Default shift speed question

hi i have a 2000 ford f-150 with the 4.2 liter v6 and 5 speed manual transmission with 118,000 miles that i purchased recently as a second truck...yesterday when taking off from a stoplight in first gear and not paying attention i didnt shift into second gear til i was going 20 mph..usually i shift 1st to 2nd at 10 mph....im still a little new to a stick shift , am i just being paranoid or could this have caused the truck to over rev ? ..thanks for your help

It will be fine. I have never driven a stick F-150, but have driven stick cars and ride dirt bikes.
Just don't usually shift that late, you could go into redline and it would be fine. As long as thats not how you normally drive.

So just keep shifting around 10mph or whatever feels right. Can't tell you exact speed cause I haven't driven a stick 4.2, so I don't know the rpm's at 10mph.

Anyways, your truck is fine.
