Default Sensor behind grille?

So I am adding some lights behind my grille and came across what looks to be a sensor of some sort and its in my way. It was just bolted on to a piece of metal in front of the radiator. It kind of looks out of place, like it doesn't belong there. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it is or if it is supposed to be there. I need to move it a couple inches left or right to get it out of the way and wasnt sure if it would harm anything. Let me know what you guys think.

I believe that is the ambient air temp sensor. DO you have any pics of it?

Yea thanks for the advice it is the outside ambient air temperature sensor. Which isnt important to me because my overhead compass/temperature display doesn't work. I guess ill just take that off completely.
