Default Sealing Windows

Just noticed that along the top of my windshield and rear windows the previous owner used some black tape to seal the windows. I'm not thinking this is a good long term solution.

Was thinking just some clear silicon might do the trick. You guys ran into this repair.

Take the back window out yourself clean it and resell it with super window weld ( o'rielys) $23 the back window comes out with 12 bolts easy fix just take your time and seat it clean. Can't help with the front, need a pro for that one.

What Jolly said. I had to do this on mine, I took the rear window out, cleaned and resealed it. No longer do I have to deal with the annoying water seeping into my clean dry cap.

x2 on those posts, mine was leaking even with the PO fix of siliconing. PO used black to match the truck, I took all the inside trim off of mine and took it to a glass shop. They charged me $50 to reseal the window/w warrenty to not leak, I didn't want to pull it again if I messed it up, thats why I took it to window guy. I reinstalled the interior trim and haven't had an issue since.
Is there a rubber dust seal that goes between the plastic outter and the truck cab?
