The box that goes behind the seat would work well. They'll cut a hole in the back wall out for added depth then they line it with a thin sheet of plywood and seal it before they carpet it. I would then stuff the box with polyfil. With a slightly smaller air space like that you can run a little bit more power to the subs to make up for it. But you should be right on the money as far as those subs go with polyfil. It'll be a tight more precise bass and personally that's my preference.

That is exactly where i was going with it. as long as he uses the poly fill correctly he wont have any problems.

I had a custom box built for mine. The back of the box was fiberglass and the front was MDF. The builder lined the back wall with aluminum foil and glasses the back wall. After it dryer, popped it out and continued to build the box.

I ran 2 10" MB Quart subs in the box and it sounded great!

The expedition console I had was opened up and a metal frame was build which held the console together and held the amps also.

Here is a link to the build. It was in a friends truck and when he sold it I bought everything from him.

Thanks. The truck was a work of art! Lifted on 38s, Supercharged Lightning Motor, Etc and the stereo was the hardest thing I had to part with when I sold the truck. I could build another truck exactly the same, no problem but the shop that did the stereo is no longer in business so that's the only thing that couldn't be duplicated.
