Default Scanner port not working?

So I had my check engine light come on and I hooked a scanner up to it to see what the code was and my scanner port wouldn't even work on my truck. Is there another way to check codes?

I had the same problem with my truck. The OBD2 port is connected on the same fuse as the cigarette lighter. I fixed it by replacing the fuse

Whenever I get a customer who calls to say their tuner isn't powering up, tell em to check the fuse first and 99% of the time, it's that simple.

For once, a simple and inexpensive fix! :-) Which we like as they rarely are cheap or easy to find!
