So I've installed a new starter solenoid in my f150 4.6 she started right up and just as soon as I smile she tried to crank again so I killed the truck and disconnected the battery. Then this hint of burning smell was in the air .... So question is did I just fry the starter or something worse any suggestions

Starter solenoid that piggybacks the starter or starter relay on the firewall. They call that a solenoid as well.

Did the starter continue to turn over till you disconnected battery? If so how much time in seconds would you guess the starter turned over. The burning smell was electrical?

I'm going to get a new solenoid for firewall this afternoon that's what I thought it was. I don't believe it's ever been changed
