Default Rust!?!?!? WTF

When I bought my truck in November, I looked it over very well, and found no rust on the bottom of the doors. Yesterday I was getting out of my truck, and found some. This seems nuts, how could rust form so quickly?

Its on the bottom of the other doors too, but the driver door is the worst. I was thinking of spraying on some rust converter, do they make it in white or only black? How would you guys handle this issue? I am pretty upset because like I said, when I got the truck there was NO rust here at all.

bump! I do have a can of matching paint. How tough would it be to sand around the seams and respray? I am looking for all options because I don't want this to get any worse.

Since its in a spot you wont see I would scrape the loose rust off if there is any and cover it with POR-15 and then paint over that with white.

I am worried because its on the seam, and I won't be able to get in there too well. I guess the POR 15 and color matched paint is the best I can do.

You could easily sandblast the seam area. Would take some prep work and paint. Would be my choice of trying to get rid of the rust. Wouldn't have to be perfect in that location either. Glwr.

This is probably a stupid suggestion, but you could prep it and then instead of color matched paint, you could go with a white spray on bed liner there since you wont see it
