Default Rubbing Noise

This is for my dads 2003 Ford F150 Supercrew with a 6" BDS lift and 35s.

Today he told me that its making a rubbing noise sort of like metal to metal. Kind of hard to explain but he said it doesn't do it when he lets off the gas. He said it sounds like it behind him. But he can't tell cause he's in the cab and can't check while going down the road. Any help for him guys?

Well the only things behind him that could make a metal to metal sound are brakes and driveshaft unless the rear end is about to go. He could be hearing the rear. Is the pinion angle correct?

I'm not sure, we don't know how to check it. I was thinking it was the rear end, and hoping it wasn't that. It did have a studder when taking a turn from dead stop when we first got it, but fixed it with some fluid I was told to buy and it stopped it. But then ran into a problem where it doesn't have any power taking off or hauling anything. Not sure if this is related or not.

Well to check the pinion angle, all you need is an angle finder. I am not sure what the pinion should be set to tho. If your truck is equipped with a lsd, it could be worn clutch pack in the rear.
This is an angle finder

I'll have to try and check that one day. How much would a clutch pack run me, or if it is the rear end. Could I just swap gears(since I'm needing them anyways) and it would fix it?

I have no idea on those questions. The info I gave you is what I have read on here somewhere.

I went and finally jacked up the back of the truck and had my dad put it in drive so I could hear it and I pinpointed the sound down to the driveshaft. It sounds like its inside it, and its more of a squeeking noise like somethings in a bind. Anyone have any ideas?
