Default Rough start

Hello,
I’m new in F150 forum, as I just recently bought a 1997 base (it has crank windows!!) 4.2l V6 F150 with 135k miles, service history in not known.
What I have done so far is changed oil - M1 extended performance 5w-20, used motorcraft filter. Replaced the rear differential oil (found evidence that it was replaced at least one time, as I found a gasket). In hot there is a slight ticking noise at idle. I haven’t noticed it prior oil change.

There is an oil leak which appears to be a rear main seal. There is a leak at the front main seals as well.

So here is my question:
At start up the engine start very rough. It is only after a longer stop (day or so). With hot start it starts ok. By rough start I mean the engine tumbles and rocks, almost stalls than it catches and the idle smooth out.
Otherwise the engine idles ok, with a slight tick when hot.

On my to do list is new plugs.
Any pointers are welcome.
Thanks

Any check engine lights? Sounds like plugs and wires could be changed

no check engine lights. I will plug my code reader in to see - but should not be anything.

No stored codes. All readiness checks out.

I will change the spark plugs, check the wires and see what it does.

Just a quick update - I did replaced the spark plugs and wires (used AGSF42FM plugs, and WR5702 wire kit from motorcraft ). I removed autolite sparks (which is good, means a previous owner cared enough to replace those).
I noticed two interesting things:
1 - the gaps were not even. There were plugs had larger opening
2- driver side rear cylinder showed oil on the thread and on the tip and it was not burned out properly. I might have a leaky valve stem seal.
I little regret not having a compressor end pressure check - but what decision would I make based on the results? As long as it works (means hauls cargo) it won’t touch the engine.

After the change the startup roughness / tumbling /almost stalling went away completely.
