I have a 1999 F150 4x4 with the 5.4L
it's acting like it has a miss but it has new plugs and wires ... checked the coil packs (which is wierd it has the 4.6 dual coil pack setup) but I think the brain box is going or gone bad.. where is it located anyone know?

 

try disconnecting the battery to reset the computer

 

have you checked to see if your MAF sensor is dirty or your throttle position sensor is bad?... my truck has a leaking intake and its throwing a lean code to both banks of the motor and idles like it has a miss... plus a missing vacuum line could cause this too

 

I'll try unhooking the battery today and check it when I get home tomight thanks.. if that doesn't work I'll take it and get codes read i guess :/

 

oh boy! CODE 7, or atleast thats what i think its called, all i remember is the bitch at customer service ran some "code bull-sh*t" and i got a $600 bill for plugs and boots
