I havnt had an alignment yet (will be getting one tomorrow) so at this time not sure if its suspension or front end just so far out of alignment. My last tires wore very unevenly so hopefully an alignment will ease this problem.
If you're suspension is in good shape you should be able to fit 35s without being at 26".

Like I said above I'm running 35s (well technically like 34.5s but I rounded up) and my measurement is 24" and all I trimmed was a quarter sized spot on the Outer lower bumper. Can't even notice it's there. But tire width and rim backspacing all play a factor there.

Thank you for the advice! The measurement should be taken with the wheels on the ground correct?

I have the Rough Country shocks on my truck. It's newer than yours, but the shocks are made the same. I think my shocks are too soft. It's not the shocks causing it to be stiff, it's cranking up the tbars.

Im leaning towards that as well. I can feel the difference between the front suspension and the rear shocks

Yes truck on the ground (level ground)

Also once you turn the t bars you should drive it around the block to help the suspension level so remeasure after a quick trip. But yeah when adjusting the t bars it's good practice to get an alignment soon after so don't go driving 500miles one way lol. But a couple short trips shouldn't hurt anything.
