What year is the engine? 97-03s are 2V motors. The newer ones are 3V motors. On the 97-03s, the 8th number in the VIN is the engine identification number. If that number is 6 then its a 4.6 windsor, if that number is a W then its a 4.6 Romeo, and if its a L then its a 5.4. Also the 4.6 Romeo has 11 bolts on the valve cover, the 4.6 Windsor has 13 bolts, and the 5.4 has 14 bolts. Hope that helps you out
