Default Rock lights?

Looked around a little and didn't see anything that really answered my questions. I was looking at the Vision X tantrum rock lights, since they came with a musical strobe capability. Is there anybody out there that has used these? How good is the strobe effects?

I was thinking about running a dual set of tantrums wired to a controller so that my rock lights light up and flash with my bass. I've read the instructables but I don't want to run any wire off of my sub, since the lights are going to be exposed to the elements and it's likely I might end up with a short that could damage the light.

I was looking at their led spot lights to put behind my grill. I've heard good things about them.

Last 4th of July we drove up to a spot in the mountains that overlooks the valley, to watch the fireworks. It's a couple hour drive and used to be pretty quiet, but I guess it's "discovered" now, because the place was packed with side by sides and guys in brodozers when we got up there and we had to fight for a parking spot and room to see the valley so I guess we'll have to find somewhere else now. Anyway, about thirty minutes after sundown, this jackhole driving a giant lifted something came driving up and forcing his brodozer through this little tiny flat spot on top of the mountain looking for a place to park, silly truck looked like a JCWhitney catalog threw up on it, it was atrocious. The second to worst part was the awful pop-country garbage he had blaring from his speakers, and the worst part was the stupid multicolored lighting in his wheel wells and behind his bumper that pulsed and strobed with his stupid-loud music, ruining everybody's night vision and giving us all a headache.

Rock lights are great if you do a lot of working or wheeling at night and need the illumination, or if you're a poser douchebag that goes to a lot of truck shows and likes to play dressup with your truck. Whatever, it's your dime, but if you do that pulse-with-the-music thing, please, leave it in the mall parking lot and don't be like that jackhole with the brodozer.

I don't plan on constantly using the strobe and I'm goin g to start doing a fair bit of climbing. Never been to a truck show and I don't plan on it either. It's more of just a cool little feature that I'll probably get bored with fairly quick, and it might look cool playing in the mud puddles at night. Besides, I don't plan on multicolored. Jut one amber set for when it's foggy up in the hills and a white set for regular nights.

thanks for the input but I'm looking for something my spotter can use without me opening the door as some of the places I am planning to go are TIGHT.

You could do something like this, just add more lights and put them where you need/want them. Didn't take too long and I have them wired to my dome light as well as an override switch so I can turn them off or on whenever I need
